BR McDonald

Founder/Director

BR, 32, is a singer, performer, linguist, consultant, Army veteran, and founder of the Veteran Artist Program (VAP). After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill with a double major in Religious Studies and Vocal Performance, BR enlisted in the Army as an Arabic linguist right after 9/11 and served for 7 years (2001-2008). After Arabic language school at the Defense Language Center, stints with special operations units, and multiple combat deployments, BR decided to pursue his career as an Operations and Intelligence Consultant outside the military. This new found freedom led BR to get back to his first love, music and performing, and he founded The Veteran Artist Program. VAP is an organization that helps propel artists, who are also veterans, into the mainstream creative arts community. BR lives in Baltimore City and is pursuing his Executive MBA degree at Loyola University Maryland.
